Hideo Joho is Associate Professor at the Research Center for Knowledge Communities, Faculty of Library, Information and Media Science, University of Tsukuba. He received an MSc and PhD degrees from the University of Sheffield in 1999 and 2007, respectively. His research interests include cognitive and affective interaction between search engines and end-users. Dr. Joho was a Program Co-Chair of NTCIR between 2010 and 2014. He is a co-founder of ASSIA. Dr. Joho is currently an Associate Editor of Information Processing and Management (IP&M), and will be a General Co-Chair of SIGIR 2017.
